Net-zero and well paid jobs?

The net-zero economy is not just hot air when it comes to creating well paid jobs which protect our future

An article in the Northern Echo HERE celebrates the achievements of Hartlepool which can boast the biggest net-zero economy in the North East, also placing it within the top ten districts in the country. The Confederation of British Industries (CBI) report HERE finds that the net-zero sector supports more than 29,000 jobs in the North East. Jobs in the sector are well rewarded with average wages (£44,600) exceeding the UK average (£35,400) by 23%.

The Green Party believes that government should prioritise investment in sustainable industries to deliver zero waste, zero carbon and localisation of the transport sector – so local green jobs are the way to go.
